I believe we all instinctively understand that being outdoors is good for us. I am passionate about the benefits to clients of being in a natural (and sometimes wild) environment. Counselling outdoors can give insight into how we experience life, act as an analogy for our therapeutic journey, or offer up rich and varied metaphors that enable the expression of feelings and emotion. If you have a specific outdoor space you would like to use, I am open to suggestions, or I am happy to suggest one of many naturally therapeutic locations around Buxton. I can offer a variety of routes and spaces to suit your fitness or expectation.
Often thought of as a more classical style of counselling, face-to-face sessions take place in a room where the counsellor and client(s) are free from interruptions. Sessions are for 50 minutes at the same time each week. I currently offer individual and couples therapy sessions from the Invicta Therapy Centre in Buxton.
Online or telephone counselling and psychotherapy can be beneficial to individuals who otherwise would find it difficult to attend face to face, or walk and talk. Telephone or online sessions are held from the safety of your own home at a time that may fit more easily with your other life commitments.
